Charlton Rovers is a Football Association “Charter Standard Club” and also Mini Soccer Centre and, after sixteen previous successes in 1994 to 2011, we are arranging another one.
These Centres are designed as an introduction to football for boys and girls aged 7 to 10 (School years 2 to 5 only) but not intended as coaching sessions.
MINI-SOCCER is designed to give
*more touches of the ball                                       *more fun
*more opportunities to improve play                   *more movement
*better understanding of the game and
  Increased concentration – the ball is never far away!
The Centre will be held at the Beeches Playing Fields, Sappercombe Lane, Charlton Kings with the first of 9 sessions on Saturday 12th May (10.00am) followed by Wednesday (6.30pm) and Saturdays up to and including Saturday 16th June.
The first and last sessions will be about 1.5 hours and others 1 hour, Please turn up at least 10 minutes before the start of each session for registration.

There is a one off payment of £25. Please send cash/cheque for this amount payable to Charlton Rovers AFC before April 30th with the attached application form.

Charlton Rovers under 10′s were unfortunately beaten 3-1 in the final of the John Sykes League Cup. The under 10′s had a great achievement reaching the final this year, beating Leckhampton Rovers Hawks 4-0 in the semi-final.

Meanwhile, the under 11′s lost 3-0 to a very strong Churchdown Panthers team in semi final of the Arthur Stiley Memorial Cup and the under 13′s ran out gallant losers in a very close semi final with Forest Green Rovers in the C&G League Cup.

From January 2012 the Saturday Academy will be run by former Cheltenham Town footballers Julian Alsop and Shane Duff. The former Cheltenham Town heroes will be passing on some of their experience by holding coaching courses for potential stars of the future.

On a hot summer’s day the girls played some attractive football and scored some blinding goals, dominating their games and making the opposition goalkeepers work very hard.

Gloucester City ‘B’ – won 1-0. Leah

Gloucester City ‘A’ – won -3-0. Emily, Charlotte, Phoebe.

Stonehouse – 4-0. Chloe, Charlotte, Fliss 2.

Cheltenham Spa – lost 0-1. (hmm, shouldn’t have moved them all to different positions – Churchii in goal ??? )
