In time honoured fashion, the club will be recognising the Player of the Year, Most Improved Player and Managers Award for all
Charlton Rovers teams on the 7th of June. This is the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate success and the achievements of the
season together.
This year the club have decided to fall back on tradition and make the day less formal and more inclusive by having a ‘picnic in the park’
format. Obviously, we are taking a little gamble on the weather, and it is important to note that we will re-schedule
if it is wet – we are hoping for a sunny day in June.
The day starts with the annual Dads 6 a side Tournament at the Beeches from 12.00 and continues to around 2.30.
There will be a charge of £ 2.00 per player to cover costs. As the teams get knocked out they can head for Balcarras
(we hope to have the gate open) for a shower.
The show then moves to Balcarras, where there will be a BBQ, football side shows for the kids, music, a bar,
a fantastic raffle and a chance for the parents to relax and catch-up. We would encourage parents to bring deck
chairs / blankets and a picnic etc. The award ceremony will commence at 3.30 and is expected to finish at 5.30. Parents
and players can stay for an hour or so afterwards before we clear up and head home for around 0700pm.
The social and fundraising committee are organising and managing the event –
we look forward to full support on the day. We will require help with catering, organising and clearing up. Further details to follow.
